Blacklight Poster Children - Self-Titled
May 6, 2009
The infectious dance-pop sounds of Blacklight Poster Children are infiltrating the playlists of cool kids everywhere. The duo behind the scenes of BLPC are long-established musicians in the LA underground music scene and the band recently scored a national campaign featuring their music with Zappos.com.
“HIGH-LAND PARK COLLIEFORYA: Once upon a time called RIGHT NOW.
We are living in the duel states of over stimulation and under-satisfaction, and up until now there hasn’t been a hybrid (electronic mash-up culture meets live funk-rock experience) act that lives up to the promise and opportunity of our still new - yet already dystopic - millennium. The walls of Babylon that once held up what we once knew as the “record companies” have been shaken down to foundation, scraps and rubble. Good riddance; instead of inspiring the youth, they were consuming, regurgitating them, and spoiling their creativity with repackaged, lifeless, flavorless crap. Recession, depression, repression? No, not for the BLACK LIGHT POSTER CHILDREN. They’ve gathered up their weapons (live-synths, live-breakbeats, live-vox, and live-noize) and a bunch of uppity friends and they’re ready to kick-start a more militant kind dance revolution. This is no game…this is the PARTY! MEET THE BLACK LIGHT POSTER CHILDREN?”
